Here's a shot of the split wall with a corpsed bucky skeleton behind it. A nice, simple, effective prop. It's manually triggered and has a mercury switch on the doors which switches on a strobe light behind the wall.
Here is Mark and Cletus. Cletus was one of our new props for this year. He's built on a custom designed 4 bar linkage. He also has a pivot point on his shoulders that cause his arms to raise as he stands up.
One of the new sets for this year was the chicken coop. The big prop in this room was a revamped scissor lift mechanism attached to this guy. I built a chicken nest on the top of his head and he would sit down inside the box waiting for a victim to come by!
Here's a detail of one of our corpsed skulls. For some reason, it's really hard to get a decent picture of these things. It looks bitchin' in person, trust me!
Here's a shot of the executioner in place in the swamp room. We converted him to a giant light fixture in last year's swamp room and he is great for a directed light source.
Here's a decent shot of the facade this year. It's very similar to last year, except we brought it out another 4 feet and added a walkway up to the porch. I can't emphasize enough how important a good facade is for a haunt. It really sets the stage for the rest of the show and leaves the most lasting impression on your guests. Don't skimp on the facades!!!
Here's another shot of Cletus in the seated position in our living room set.
We also updated and expanded the guille room concept for this year. It was increadibly effective and gave some of the best scares in the attraction.
Here's another detail shot of a skull. It's just a bucky skull with woodstain on it to giv it a nice weathered appearance. We added a little jute netting hair to it and stuck it on the voodoo altar.
Mark built a bitching bottomless pit this year, so we added an outhouse to take advantage of it. Really cool effect!
In addition to the guille room, we brought back the splatter room too! It was our finishing room and again was very effective.
We converted one of our old barrel pop ups into a still this year. A little copper tubing and some PVC pipes, a bit of gold paint and voilla!
This was the big set this year. We built an actual swamp on the side of my house. We had about 6 inches of water in a 20 foot by 8 foot wide swamp. With a bit of lighting and fog it was just a bitching set. The visitors actually got to go through it twice as out width was limited to 10 feet in this area, we had them double back after making a u-turn at the chicken coop. A lot of the people thought they were actually going through an entirely different set!

Having them double back cut down on our through-put, but not too bad. Overall, it was totally worth all the pain of putting the swamp together. Lots and lots of great comments on it.

Here's a really awfull shot of the voodoo altar with the flying crank ghost flying behind it. This was entirely black lit and looked awesome. We also had Mike hiding under the table that the voodoo altar was sitting on. After a couple of seconds he would jump out and just kill the folks starring at the FCG.
Well... That's it!

It was a great show that we had a great time with. I'm not really sure that we could top this one in this space. So for next year.... Hmmm.....
